Following on from the Public Meeting which took place on 22nd January we would like to remind you that you still have time to comment on the recent Planning Application. Wednesday 22nd January 2020 7pm to 9pm at Ashton Hayes Primary School Find out about the latest planning application for the Golden Lion Meeting arranged by the Parish Council so they can better understand your views and represent them Also invited are the owner / applicant and his agent, the Council and the Golden Lion Pub Group Plans can be viewed in the Parish Rooms on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th January from 10am to 2pm also at the Pavilion Cafe between 2pm and 4pm both days

Please find below a notice released by Ashton Hayes Parish Council A new planning application has been submitted for the Golden Lion site which would seem to be similar to the one that was refused by CWaC 6 years ago. It proposes that the building be converted into dwellings and that two more houses are built on land at the far end of the car park. Update – September 2019

Update on Progress Whilst there isn’t very much progress to report at this time it is encouraging that Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWaC) are currently planning to take the matter of a compulsory purchase action forward to the relevant committee for it to be carefully considered. The report, produced by CWaC officers, is based on the case information supplied by the Ashton Hayes Community Hub Committee (AHCH), it will be shared with elected CWaC members and if more information or reassurance is required then we will be in a position to support this if needed. Update – March 2019

In our last update we reported that we had submitted our Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO) documentation to Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWaC) for their consideration. In summary this means that CWaC will consider purchasing the Golden Lion from the owner under the CPO Legislation. The Borough Council is continuing to review the application we have submitted. We understand and accept that the process is a complex one and that CWaC will need to give the request due diligence as it assesses our request.
