Progress Update 25 08 24

We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve reached our minimum target of £250,000!

This is a fantastic milestone, with shareholders now joining us from as far away as Australia and Canada. A huge thank you to all our shareholders for making this possible.

The refurbishment is progressing well. The main roof is now complete, and the electrics having been ripped out in preparation for a full re-wire. The plumbing rip out has also started and you will have noticed that the gable ends and chimneys have been painted. The scaffolding has come down, paving the way for window installation this coming week. Other tasks planned include replacing the lintel in the bar, sandblasting the beams and stonework, removing the old kitchen appliances, and servicing the oven and hot cupboard.

While we’ve made significant strides, there’s still plenty to do. With recent rises in material costs and our commitment to making the building as energy-efficient and environmentally friendly as possible, we need your continued support.

The Share Offer has been extended to 20th December 2024, so if you haven’t purchased shares yet, or if you’d like to increase your investment, now is the perfect time. All the details can be found on our website: goldenlionashtonhayes.co.uk, and hard copies of the Prospectus, Application Form, and Business Plan are available at Ashton Hayes and Mouldsworth Community Shop. If you have any questions, feel free to email us at goldenlionashtonhayes@btinternet.com.

Our progress has been largely thanks to the incredible volunteers who have dedicated their time and effort to clearing vegetation and debris, making it easier for services to access the site. Last week, another session cleared much of the vegetation, setting the stage for the tree surgeons to remove the large trees in the car park. The area alongside the pub has also been cleared, allowing us to start work on the walkway from the car park to Kelsall Road.
