Listed as an Asset of Community Value

The Ashton Hayes Community Hub Committee are pleased to announce that Cheshire West & Chester Council have approved our application to list The Golden Lion as an Asset of Community Value. We now move on to the next steps of the campaign to acquire the Golden Lion for our community.

The wording from the approval can be found below:

“APPLICATION UNDER COMMUNITY RIGHT TO BID PROVISIONS
I refer to the application to list The Golden Lion pub and car park as an asset of community value in accordance with the provision of the Localism Act 2011.
The Council considers that the actual use of the asset has community value as defined in the Localism Act 2011 and the asset will be placed on the List.
The owner has the right to request that the Council reviews its decision under section 92 of the Act. The deadline for this is set out in paragraph 1 of Schedule 2 to the Regulations and is 8 weeks from the date written notice of the listing was given. The property will remain listed while a review is carried out.”

We will continue to keep you updated with progress as it happens.
