In our last update we encouraged those who wished to comment on the planning application to submit their comments. That planning application was refused on the back of the objections received by the planning department and its non compliance with numerous planning policies. A huge thank you to all those who took the time to object to the application and continue to support the project to get the Golden Lion back up and running as a community pub and hub.
The committee has approached the owner once again via the selling agents, to see if the planning refusal has had any positive impact on the asking price, unfortunately it hasn’t and the owner is still holding out for a vastly inflated price as he has done for the last 3 years.
The committee have been very busy during the recent months, not only fighting the latest planning application but also researching, uncovering and reviewing similar case histories, some of which are very recent. We have now built up a considerable portfolio of supporting evidence that we are confident CWaC will take in to consideration when determining our request for a Compulsory Purchase Order to be made.
We have been in constant contact with the Parish Council to keep them updated with progress and wish to thank them for their ongoing support.
